| February 05, 2006 | | Frontier Airlines announced their decision in the fourth quarter of SuperBowl 40. Flip is flying to Mexico, and according to the commercial -- I mean news report ;-) It looks like Frontier will be giving away some trips with Flip. | by John Gaudio "Let Flip Fly!" That's been the battle cry of the "grass roots" movement orchestrated by Frontier Airlines and their brilliant marketing wizards. In the fourth quarter of the Superbowl the crowd's expressing slogans like, "Hey Joe, Let Flip Go" -- "Let Flip Fly" -- "Mexico or Bust" "Porpoise Power" and others got their way. Joe Hodas stepped up the podium, and with a bit of feigned resignation in his voice, announced that Flip was going to Mexico. Flip of course was elated, jumping up and down on the tail of his plane with fireworks in the background. It's been a cute promotion. At the end of the commercial was a screen advertising, "Win a trip to fly with Flip!" followed by the http://FliptoMexico.com URL. I don't know what the contest will be, but I'm willing to make a bet we'll find out soon. Congratulations Flip! Good Job Frontier. | | |
