I've been working shows like Comdex and CES for twenty five years now, and it's always been hard work, but this year I have a real task master. Rick Thomas has set up a number of meetings for me with people I never would have had the opportunity to meet with on my own. Rick is a matchmaker with more contacts and experience than anyone I've ever met. His command of details on the history of the wireless industry is astounding, and his wife Kathy handles logistics as well as anyone I've ever seen.
Today Rick moderated a panel, introduced the book Winning at Wireless Retail, orchestrated a number of meetings for me and other clients, and introduced me to more movers and shakers in the wireless industry than I had ever imagined I'd meet.
Rick has a win-win philosophy, working hard to match his clients with the players that can really benefit from their services. He pays attention to details, and he maintains relationships spanning decades, companies, and industries. CES has always been a lot of work, but with Rick running my schedule, it's downright grueling, in the best sense of the word.
I have great hopes that the work this taskmaster is forcing me to do will pay great rewards. Thanks Rick.
