In years past you had to have huge amounts of capital to be a publisher. Now you can be your own writer, editor, and publisher, complete with world wide distribution, syndication, and very high findability. It's been possible for years now to express your opinions on the Internet, even to take some control of the process by having your own Web Site, but to be found easily you probably had to spend a lot of time, money, or both, optimizing your site so people could find it. With a premium blogsite, you can easily get your message out to those people who look for the subjects on which you're passionate, the subjects on which you write. People who share your passions use Google, Yahoo, & other search engines to learn about those passions, and in doing so, to learn about you. Let people know who you are, and your "brand" will be associated with you, your opinions, and your values. Start with a "free" or inexpensive blog if you want, but know that if you really want to get the word out, there are much more powerful tools available. Sure, it costs a lot more than those free or inexpensive alternatives, just as a cruise ship costs a lot more than a bus. But if you're looking to bring in a lot of people, in either the physical or the virtual world, you have to consider not just the costs, but the capacity, the benefits, and the value as well.
