CES 2009

What will CES bring in 2009?

by John Gaudio

That's the really big question.  Certainly there will be bigger flat panel displays, plenty of games, more on connectivity, and the inevitable trend for phones to become computers, and computers to let you make phone calls, but the real value of CES is the people.

Who will I meet?  What will I learn?

CES 2009Of course I'll follow up with some of the people I saw last year, including Rick Thomas, a virtual encyclopedia in the wireless world, and the people of Sling, Brother, Microsoft, Panasonic, and more.  Please check out links to my earlier articles below to learn about earlier Consumer Electronics Shows.   But what will surprise me?  What will excite me?  Those are the big questions.

Will Microsoft announce a Zune phone, and if so, how can Can Steve Balmer use it to get a piece of Apple's IPhone market?  What about HD video production tools, new cameras, audio recorders, and LED lighting innovations?

The best way to figure it out is to get to Las Vegas this January.  Hotel prices are down, and airline deals are looking pretty good, so register now if you can make it.  If you can't get away to Vegas, look for my posts and interviews with the people I'll meet this year at CES.
