by John Gaudio,
Two intelligent men, both Law School Professors, demonstrate two very different views of the world, and of our nation. Both speak eloquently, debating the question "Liberal or Conservative Health Care Solutions. What's Better for America?" Both cannot be right.
Robert Heinlein, in his book "Time Enough for Love," writes
Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded---here and there, now and then---are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty. This is known as "bad luck."
It seems that as a nation, we're having a lot of bad luck lately. Government interference has created crises in the Financial and Auto industries, and now, through Obama Care, it threatens to create still more crises in the health care arena. Those who would innovate and create will be driven out of the medical profession. I fear that unless Obama, Pelosi, and Reid are stopped soon, they will force us to "slip back into abject poverty." How do we change the course?
We change it by winning elections, and we win elections by talking with our undecided and liberal neighb ors and friends, by asking them questions, as Hugh did so beautifully in this debate, and by politely and intelligently pointing out the disastrous consequences of socialism. Our last presidential election was determined by only four percent of those who voted. Can we enlighten four, five, or even ten percent of our neighbors? Can we bring sanity back to our nation? I believe that we can.
Hugh Hewitt believes Obama Care will drive many doctors out of the business of medicine, and that it will destroy the greatest health care system in the world. Paul Campos believes that Health Care is no different than Police or Fire Protection, and that ours is the finest medical system in the world, if you're rich, but that "something close to comprehensive basic medical coverage" is unavailable to one fifth of our population. Paul is not an ignorant man. He is not a bad man. Paul Campos is idealistic, believing in equality for all when it comes to medical care, and that this equality should be paid for by the government, that is to say, by you and me.
I am not nearly as eloquent as great conservative thinkers like Hugh Hewitt and Dennis Prager, but I can learn from them. We all can. For this reason I have created videos of their debates with two of the smartest lefties in Colorado, Paul Campos, and David Sirota, respectively. By listening to their arguments I better learn to articulate solid conservative principles, and the knowledge I gain inoculates me from some of the false arguments I am likely to encounter.
I've created a video series, "Liberal or Conservative ... What's Better for America" to help good conservatives learn to debate their liberal friends and neighbors. Hewitt and Prager are the best when it comes to articulating our conservative principles. Please check out these videos, and learn, from two of the best conservative minds in our nation, how to debate your liberal and undecided friends. I offer the videos with a money back guaranty. If you're not thrilled with either video, return it, and I'll refund your money.
Dennis Prager's debate is available at the Dennis Prager Store. Hugh Hewitt's debate should be available soon at both his website, and the Dennis Prager Store. Please see their links below. Both can also be purchased directly from J. Gaudio Company, by calling 303-870-1044, but I ask you to try their websites first.
Heinlein also writes, "In a mature society, 'civil servant' is semantically equal to 'civil master.'" Let us all do what we can to avoid the "bad luck" to which he refers above, and to bring would be "civil master[s]" ---Obama, Pelosi, and Reid come to mind---back into line. |
