Six years ago today, nearly three thousand of our countrymen were murdered. God bless them, their families, and friends, our soldiers, our president, and us.

That we have gone for six years without serious attacks on our soil is a tribute to the handling of 911. I know that many thousands of people behind the scenes have been responsible for our safety, and I thank them.

I firmly believe that the response of President Bush, and our military, in aggressively taking this war back to the enemy, in fighting them on their soil, and letting them know that attacking us will bring great strength and power to bear on them, is a huge part of why we have not been attacked here at home again.

I thank you, George Bush, David Petraeus, and the hundreds of thousands of military men and women, and their millions of fathers and mothers, sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, husbands, wives, and friends, for your sacrifices and your courage.

God bless you all.
