If You Tax the Rich, to Give to the Poor, You'll Have Fewer Rich People, and More Poor People.

If you tax those who work, to give money to those who don't work, fewer people will work.

I didn't catch the name of his guest, but about 45 minutes ago Dennis Prager played a sound bite, I believe from an earlier guest, who put it so simply, and so brilliantly, that I had to stop and share it.  I'm paraphrasing, but what he said was essentially this.

If you tax the rich to give to the poor, you'll have fewer rich people, and more poor people.

If you tax those who work, to give money to those who don't work, fewer people will work.

This is exactly the opposite of the American Dream, and the American way.

Redistribution of wealth may be the road to equality, but sadly, it is the road to equal poverty.

DUH WHAT ABOUT THE MIDDLE CLASS PEOPLE

If you tax the rich to give to the poor, you'll have fewer rich people, and more MIDDLE CLASS people. Not POOR you greedy bastard.

This is exactly the American way. Americans are resilient and they help each other, you Republican trash.

If you Tax the Rich to Give to the Poor, Middle Class People Will Become Poor

Your comment is not only incorrect, it is rude.

On the contrary, the American way is not about stealing the wealth that creative and enterprising people have created, then giving that wealth to those who mistakenly believe they are entitled to the rewards of the labor of others.

Rather, it is to allow those who create wealth to control the wealth they created.  Such people then employ others, passing much of what they've earned to those who are willing to work, that is, willing to earn wealth of their own.

I do agree with one point.  To a large extent "Americans are resilient and they help each other."  Unfortunately some, like you, seem to think they have the right to help themselves to that which they have not earned.  The name for that is "stealing."
