Restoring American Exceptionalism Through School Choice -- Americans for Prosperity Foundation

Hugh Hewitt explains how "The prisoners are children, and their parents have no choice," when school choice is denied in some districts.
Restoring American Exceptionalism

By John Gaudio,

Last night, Americans for Prosperity, 710 KNUS, 1460AM KZNT, and others sponsored the event "Restoring American Exceptionalism."  In Hugh Hewitt's introductory remarks he describes school choice, failed school districts, teachers' unions, and how the status quo amounts to a prison system in some districts.

"The prisoners are children, and their parents have no choice."  Hugh is a product of "the original school choice system," the parochial school system. Contrary to the beliefs of many, School choice does not harm the public school system.  School choice provides the competition that forces public schools to be better.

Hugh suggests you "Go and buy the book 'Work Hard, Be Nice, by Jay Mathews," the story of KIP, Knowledge is Power.  KIP broke all the rules, and it has blossomed.  It is a great example of children succeeding under the most difficult of circumstances, when they, and their parents, are allowed to choose.  He also suggests visiting GreatHeartsAZ.com, for another excellent example of success through school choice.

Hugh was joined by DIck Morris, Bob Schaffer, Dan Gerkin, and Jeff Crank for nearly two hours on school choice and American Exceptionalism.  Special thanks to Jeff Crank, who introduces Hugh Hewitt in the video, and to Americans for Prosperity, 710 KNUS, and 1460AM KZNT, for bringing this all together.
