| June 26, 2005 | | Grand Lake is a friendly and beautiful small resort in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. In the summer the fishing, boating, shopping, rafting, horseback riding lodging, and food are outstanding. Please check it out. | |
I first came to Grand Lake Colorado about 40 years ago. I remember
friendly, trusting people in a small town where kids could wander freely through
main street and I could practice my marksmanship with a 22 at the shooting
gallery. Today the shooting gallery is electronic, but the people are
still honest and friendly, and my son and nephew, 12 & 14 respectively, were
able to fish, go out in a paddle boat, and wander about the town to their hearts
content.
I needed a bow for my wife's birthday present, and a lady in one of the
stores made one for me from ribbon she had on hand, and wouldn't take a nickel
for it. We ate in wonderful restaurants, stayed in a couple
of great lodges, and got to know some of the nicest people you could hope to
meet. If you're looking for a breathtaking view, mountain air, fishing,
boating, good food, and Colorado hospitality, I'd highly recommend Grand Lake
Colorado. | | |
