It's not how many people see your content, so much as making sure that the right people see your content.

By John Gaudio

One Real Estate agent uses his blogsite to describe properties he's listing in Vail. And one of those properties was the penthouse suite atop what's now a very large hole in the middle of Vail Village. In his post he described the eight million dollar property in some detail.

In a far off corner of the globe someone's assistant was looking for just the right property to fit the needs of his well off employer. Entering detailed search terms led him to a post on a blogsite about the penthouse at Vail village. The rest is history.

In the new world, getting lots of people to look at what you have to offer is not nearly as important as getting the right people to look. It's described as the long tail of Internet search. I don't know how many people found the post mentioned above. Perhaps ten, maybe a hundred, maybe more. The important fact though is not how many people found it, only that one person, the right person, looking for precisely that sort of property, found it. That led to an eight million dollar sale, and a commission that will pay for one realtor's blogsite for many many years to come.
